garden update !

I feel its been long enough since my last garden post so heres a update !, weather has been mostly rainy and hot the past week or so, so once again i havent had the time i wanted to spend gardening.
at my local farmers market Briwood, i purchaced some pre-started plants to save my time and spread out harvest time abit
Above is my lettuce sprouts along with a couple pepper sprouts and a corn plant. i also just planted another corn beside my existing one.

a pic of my garden with a few new additions, on the far left is a small cantolope plant, and at the back is a cherry tomato plant i bought, the onions are doing well and the corn have all sprouted
                                                                        my little corns
                                                                         the tomato
                                                                     cantalope
emery helping me with the weeds
here i have a 4 different types of lettuce and my big strawberry plant
lettuce, strawberries and peas in this container all doing well
tomato plant and my container with strawberrys at the back and lettuce and onions in the front
and here i have about 8 corn sprouted, the blackberry bush in the center with the sunflower and the new pepper plant, the front is also filled with onions

Overall im pretty happy with my garden. It has only been a few weeks bujt i havent run into any problems, the onions seem to work quite well for keeping the rabbits away because nothing has been nibbled. i will make another update in the near future, feel free to comment

Legalize it !

so its been a few months since colorado legalized marijuana for recreational use, infact its doing good things for the lucky people of colorado alot of the taxes will go toward dui programs with the police and school nurses for the children aswell as other plans that will come up as revenues increase

The state's Department of Revenue reports that marijuana retailers sold nearly $19 million in recreational weed in March, up from $14 million in February. The first three months of legal weed have netted about $7.3 million in taxes, not including medical marijuana sales taxes and licenses, which bring the number to $12.6 million. In it's first few months, Colorado could already soon be outpacing those historic first-day sales on a daily basis.

Did i mention that the crime rate is down ?! thats right its declining and i think thats an amazing piece of news

Unfortunatly up here in Canada laws seems to be getting stricter and Mr prime minister Harper with his strange ideas ( he represses Canadian scienentists findings, and rejects the idea of legalized marjiuana in canada) with elections on the horizon we can only hope someone with a different way of thinking can guide canada into a better tomorrow, if we want to choose a safer alternative to alcohol or marijuana we should have the right to choose.

im not sure if you americans know how canada works but the only way to buy alcohol is from a lcbo store, witch are all goverment owned and operated so if you want alcohol in canada all the profit goes directly to the goverment of canada, along with cigarette taxes rising litteraly every year the harper goverment makes nothing but profit from products that only cause physical harm.
with marijuana legalized in canada our tourism would be up drasticly, many jobs would be created and people will have a safer choice

On july 9th, our countries greatest freedom fighter marc emery will be released from american prison,
marc is the first person that has be extradited to a foreign country to be tried, what he was arested and sent to U.S prison for isnt even remotely considered a hard crime here.
he sold marijuana seeds over the internet to all of canada and the USA, he never once comitted a crime on american soil, But with harpers craving to suck up to its big brother america he sent harper over the border, and even with petitions and appeals to be jailed on his home soil
all appeals were rejected and dear old marc was forced to spend a few years in american jail
on july 9th he will be released from american prison and transfered to canadian jail, and thats if canada end up giving him time but according to the canadian goverment marc will be home for christmas and ready to fight the good fight

I had the chance to see Marc and his wife Jody on his last stop of his farewell tour before he was extradited, it was in his hometown of London Ontario, i have very high hopes that he will do another little tour around and share his amazingly inspiring words that were missed

thanks to this great man we can shop on sundays and read hightimes and many other thing marc has done for us all

if you want to red more on marc here is his wiki

iv slept about 4 hours 2 days or so, so i apologize for the quality of my post
take care everyone !

my backyard garden

Good morning internets!
Today started off with some light rain, we have been getting perfect weather for starting plants all week it would seem, most of the plants that are planted are doing very well so im going to take this time to give you a overview of my small garden.
At the current time im a renter, i have acess to backyard that will be shared in the future so i cant do to much in the way of making garden beds or modifying the property much. alot of my crops will be grown in containers and pots.

ill start with whats in the ground first! i have 2 small beds i made into the yard because the small areas i chose were rough to start with and would be good locations as for sun.
i got to work and tilled the soil i also added a few bags of compost and soil just to help get conditions right, after the beds were ready i planted around 15 yellow onions, 5 sun flowers, and a few corn plants i started indoors

up above is my first garden bed, so far just the onions a sun flower also a pepper and a corn are growing. i made the surrounding of the garden with rocks i found in the dirt when i was digging around and turning the dirt over, its rained off and on for the past 3 days so it pretty obvious i have some weeding work to do, i planted 2 cantoloupe seeds near the end of the garden, these will just be for fun i didnt really have this garden set up to grow something like that but we will see how it goes!

Above are 2 of my containers the first one has 8 strawberry plants and 3 onions to help keep pests away, rabbits are fairly common in our yard despite our pets so i planted onions almost everywhere to help keep them away. the strawberrys were planted about a week ago as luttle chunks of root.

the second container is one corn plant. the front 2 rows are iceberg lettuce that are just sprouting, and the back left hand corner is red pepper sprout

and here is my second garden bed, in here i planted 8 corn plants which im waiting to sprout. there is also 2 sunflowers, i had a few more but a random hailstorm last week destroyed , so ill be planting more soon.theres also a few onions and in the middle there is a blackberry bush i added.

indoors over the next week ill be starting my giant pumpkins, carrots, tomatoes  and my herb garden, i have 6 differnt types of herb seeds germinating at the moment, i also have a few cuttings i took from a japanese maple im waiting to root. im very interested in bonsai growing and plan on trying a bonsai maple so there will be more posts about that and many more updates of my garden!
id love any tips you can send my way
i hope to make many additions to my garden (:
